If you’ve been following my blog for a little while, you know that I left my teaching job in June 2012. Even though I’m not currently in the classroom, I wanted to share the kids Valentines craft that we made last year, because I *loved* it! The parents loved receiving these as Valentines gifts as well, and they didn’t include candy!
These are SO simple to make – and you can do it very quickly!
I took pictures of all of the kids individually in front of a simple backdrop (mine is a tablecloth from a thrift store!). I had the kids hold their hands out in front of their body in a fist:

I downloaded the picture on the computer, and printed it out. We mounted it on to a piece of scrapbook paper (that the kids chose). I then scored the paper with a scissor right on top of and below their fist in the picture.
We then made tissue paper flowers (simple tutorial here) and used 2 colors of tissue paper to make it even more interesting. We attached it to pipe cleaners, and threaded it through the holes we made above and below the fists:
Then they wrote their personalized message on the top – and we were done!
How cute are they?? And I got so many messages from parents the next day who loved their Valentines Day gifts from their precious kids!
